SellCell Forecast: What Could Netflix and Disney+ Look Like by 2030?

Netflix vs Disney+ Subscriber Trends (2023–2025) and Directional Forecast
Service202320252030 Forecast
Netflix260.3m325m487m
Disney+150.2m131.6m91m
*Directional forecast based on subscriber trends between 2023 and 2025. Future subscriber growth is unlikely to follow the same trajectory exactly and figures should be treated as illustrative rather than predictive.

Netflix added 64.7 million subscribers between the end of 2023 and the end of 2025, growing from 260.3 million to 325 million.

Over the same period, Disney+ declined from 150.2 million subscribers to 131.6 million.

If both services continued at the same pace seen between 2023 and 2025, Netflix would approach 500 million subscribers by 2030, while Disney+ would fall below 100 million.

The reality will almost certainly be less extreme than this, as subscriber growth and declines rarely continue at the same pace indefinitely. However, the exercise highlights the scale of Netflix’s current lead.

SellCell forecast: Based on recent subscriber trends, Disney+ is unlikely to catch Netflix during the remainder of the decade.
