American actor Alec Baldwin found himself ejected from a plane yesterday over his refusal to stop playing a game called “Words with Friends” on his old cell phone. Baldwin claims that a flight attendant went loopy on him while he was playing the game on his cell phone, even despite the fact that the plane was at that time still sitting at a gate in LAX. Following the incident, Baldwin posted on social media site Twitter that “Flight attendant reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderairamericaisbankrupt.”
The airline confirms that there was a verbal altercation between the actor and a flight attendant. However, it also alleges that Baldwin was so steamed about the incident that he proceeded to rise from his seat while the “Fasten seat belt” sign was still on and slammed the bathroom door so hard that the captain of the plane overheard it and became involved. Baldwin’s people deny that any such occurrence actually took place.
The actor ending up taking a later flight, and could not resist taking a potshot at the airline, again via a post on a Twitter. “Now on the 3 o’clock American flight,” he tweeted. “The flight attendants already look… smarter.”
Baldwin joins the ever-growing list of actors and celebrities who have been kicked off a plane in recent times.
