Sony Xperia Z2

Phone prices are climbing each year as technology takes leaps and bounds forwards. The question is, is $800-$1,000 a step too far when it comes to an entry level 16GB cellphone?

I think most people missed this launch as it was shadowed by the anticipation and grand launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5, but this new flagship model by Sony has had plenty of improvements from the Z1, and if the price doesn’t put you off then this a great gadget.

To start with, the Sony Xperia Z2 has an incredible spec. You have a battery that comes in at 3200mAh which is 7% larger than the Z1, there is 4K video recording, and just like Samsung’s S5 it’s packing 3GB of RAM.

However, if your more into the screen specs and camera specs then you will be blown away by the 20.7-megapxiel camera that puts a lot of digital camera’s to shame, so the camera is ideal for those holiday snaps and capturing special moments. For those wanting to take selfies, you also have a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The screen has a full HD display, an measures in a 5.2″ so its great for a number of reasons, from viewing your photos, games to checking out your favorite blogs.

All this runs off a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, running KitKat 4.4.2.

The Z1 was popular due to the water resistant make-up of the phone, so you will be glad to know that the Z2 also sports dust and water-resistant features, and has some impressive digital-noise cancelling technology so listening to music is clear, crisp and totally awesome.

What do you think of the Z2? Is it enough to tempt you away from your iPhone or Galaxy device?
