{"id":545,"date":"2011-06-07T14:43:40","date_gmt":"2011-06-07T14:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beta.sellcell.com\/blog\/?p=545"},"modified":"2019-04-12T11:08:10","modified_gmt":"2019-04-12T11:08:10","slug":"how-the-iphone-changed-smartphones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/how-the-iphone-changed-smartphones\/","title":{"rendered":"How the iPhone Changed Smartphones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Apple.gif\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-547\" title=\"Apple\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Apple.gif\" alt width=\"180\" height=\"120\"><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-547 lazyload\" title=\"Apple\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%22%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20180%20120%22%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" alt width=\"180\" height=\"120\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Apple.gif\"><\/a>You ever have one of those days where you go onto a site to read one specific article and you end up staying and reading several?&nbsp; I did that today on SFGate, the San Francisco Chronicle\u2019s news site.&nbsp; First, I read about the future of mobile, which was highly interesting and then I came across an article addressing the effect Apple has had on smartphones.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, with the introduction of the iPhone in 2007, Apple turned the mobile industry inside out \u2013 and it happened at a key time in the technology\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>Think about it, before Apple, we had cell phones; we made phone calls, sent texts to our friends, and maybe played some music.&nbsp; Then the iPhone came along, allowing us to do all of that and much more \u2013 in an easy-to-use and exciting way.&nbsp; Of course, its massive popularity just cried out for the technology to be copied; and it was.&nbsp; Nowadays we have Android \u2013 who is itself, pushing the envelope on mobile technology \u2013 as well as Palm, RIM and Microsoft, who have all copied Apple features.<\/p>\n<p>Every time you use your fingers to interact with a screen, you can thank Apple.&nbsp; Before the iPhone, we didn\u2019t think of the screen as the phone.&nbsp; Now, because of their introduction to the gesture interface, we find ourselves poking our fingers on non-touch reactive surfaces and wondering why they don\u2019t respond.<\/p>\n<p>When you think back on cell phone technology pre-2007, you can see that the technology grew, but at a much slower pace.&nbsp; Now, since the advent of the iPhone, each year since has brought new and amazing changes.&nbsp; Thanks Apple!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You ever have one of those days where you go onto a site to read one specific article and you end up staying and reading several?
