Say hello to MIMO<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Obviously our very own MIMO hasn\u2019t packed his bags and headed to Cupertino to take on a new role at Apple HQ.  MIMO is also a new feature on the iPad Air and iPad Mini, in an effort to improve wireless connections.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

MIMO actually stands for Multiple Input, Multiple Output, or as Apple put it: More In, More Out.<\/p>\n

Now For The Science<\/b><\/h2>\n

MIMO allows for multiple antennas in a device’s Wi-Fi architecture, to create multiple data streams, which ends up increasing throughput.<\/p>\n

MIMO streams are represented in Wi-Fi routers and wireless adapters as: 2×2 (2 streams for transmit of signal and 2 for receive), 3×2 or 3×3.<\/p>\n
