use of new and old cell phones while engaged in the operating of a motor vehicle.&nbsp; \u201cThis would be another example of how Antioch leads in public safety,\u201d claims Mary Dominiak, a Trustee.&nbsp; \u201cIt is the right thing to do.\u201d<br>\nThe proposal was made at a Wednesday meeting of the Village Board committee by another Trustee, Ted Poulos, who claims that his own brother was injured in a car crash that was directly caused by a female driver too busy talking on her cell phone when she was driving.&nbsp; \u201cEverywhere you go people are driving with a phone up to their ear,\u201d Poulos says.&nbsp; \u201cIt\u2019s a huge distraction.&nbsp; There is a big difference between using a hands free device and driving with a phone up to your ear.&nbsp; I used to be one of those people, so I know what a distraction it can be.\u201d<br>\nVillage officials agree that while a statewide ban would be the best thing all around, the more municipalities that come up with their own bans, the greater the probability that a state ban would then almost inevitably be put in place.&nbsp; \u201cWe need to do our part now to reduce accidents,\u201d Poulos
