{"id":3541,"date":"2011-04-12T10:47:01","date_gmt":"2011-04-12T10:47:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beta.sellcell.com\/blog\/?p=818"},"modified":"2019-04-12T10:53:05","modified_gmt":"2019-04-12T10:53:05","slug":"cell-phone-nabs-burglar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/cell-phone-nabs-burglar\/","title":{"rendered":"Cell Phone Nabs Burglar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/phone4.gif\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-819\" title=\"phone4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/phone4.gif\" alt width=\"180\" height=\"120\"><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-819 lazyload\" title=\"phone4\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%22%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20180%20120%22%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" alt width=\"180\" height=\"120\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.sellcell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/phone4.gif\"><\/a>They say you have to be stupid to be a criminal, and one hapless burglar in York County in the United States may just have proved the point.&nbsp; Northern York County Regional Police were able to catch the man who broke into a home in Sunnyside Road in Jackson Township during broad daylight and stole four electronic items because he accidentally dropped his own cell phone and left it at the scene of the crime.&nbsp; With a search warrant, the police were then able to trace the cell phone right back to its twenty-two year old owner, a man named Keenan Michael Pleasant.&nbsp; They found him fast asleep in his basement, confused about the location of his cell phone. &nbsp;The stolen electrical goods were also found at his home address.&nbsp; Pleasant was arrested on the spot and has been charged with burglary and related offences, as well as the possession of paraphernalia relating to drugs.&nbsp; He went into custody without incident, and his bail was set at five thousand US dollars, which has not been paid, so his current address remains York County Prison.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbor Dan Styers was astonished at the ineptness of the burglar in making such an elementary mistake.&nbsp; \u201cI\u2019ve never heard of anything like that,\u201d he says.&nbsp; \u201cPeople leaving stuff behind, normally they are taking stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investigation was aided greatly by Mr. Pleasant leaving his cell phone at the scene,\u201d deadpanned Lt David Lash.&nbsp; \u201cIt made it that much easier for us to locate him.&nbsp; We\u2019d hate for (burglars) to start zipping their coat pockets.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They say you have to be stupid to be a criminal, and one hapless burglar in York County in the United States may just have proved the point.
