\u201cOver the last year, Rainbow District School Board has recycled more than ten thousand pounds (four thousand and five hundred kilograms) of electronic equipment as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability,\u201d says the Rainbow District School Board\u2019s director of education, Norm Blaseg.  \u201cWe are now giving our students, staff, parents, guardians, members of the local community and local businesses an opportunity to join our efforts by recycling their e-waste at these community events.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to used cell phones, other electronic items that can be dropped off for recycling at the community events include computers, laptops and servers, computer paraphernalia such as mice and keyboards and monitors, televisions, media players, CDs and DVDs and much, much more.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow District School Board in Canada has teamed up with Greentec Recycling Solutions in order to offer the local community a chance to drop their old cell phones and other electronic items off so that they can be recycled rather than end up as landfill.
