Samsung has made in-roads and Microsoft has looked to cut back Apple\u2019s lead, most have failed though.<\/p>\n<p>One expert said \u201cMicrosoft should have spent more time filling in the holes for this [their latest] product release instead of worrying so much about what Apple was going to do\u201d while another analyst pointed out that Nokia\u2019s latest release lacked anything surprising and had no \u2018wow\u2019 factor, which has come to be included as standard with the iPhone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe devices that were launched were more of an evolution,\u201d commented one expert. \u201cThis was a baby step for Nokia and Microsoft and not really a giant leap like some were hoping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Nokia Lumia, launched last year, has sold just 4 million units in the second quarter of 2012, which is considerably less than the 26 million that Apple were able to achieve with the iPhone.&nbsp; With the new iPhone 5 on its way, it does not seem as if things will get better
